About Jenny
I’ve been playing the piano since before I had lessons, exploring and reproducing what I listened to as a very small child, and formally learning from the age of six. I completed my Grade 8 by 16, went on to achieve 2 performance diplomas, earned a first-class degree in Music and Social Anthropology, followed by an MA in music, specialising in music composition at Keele University.
Music has been a lifelong passion, and teaching gives me the joy of sharing it with others. I work with students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced performers, helping each one build confidence and explore their own musical voice.
My approach is structured yet flexible. While I often use graded exams to guide progress, I also support interests in improvisation, composition, and music theory, always playing to the individual’s strengths.
I’m also an approved teacher with the Amber Trust, supporting blind and partially sighted students in developing their musical skills.
Whether you’re returning to the piano in retirement or learning for the first time, lessons are shaped around you.
